Emotes, emoji and stickers are the smallest images a platform takes, and the strictest: exact sizes, tight file limits and rules for animation. The table above compares every one ImgWrench makes, with the sizes to upload, the formats each platform accepts and its file limit.

Designing for small sizes

The smallest Twitch emote is 28×28 pixels, and Discord shows emoji at 32×32 in chat. Thick outlines, simple shapes and strong contrast survive that; fine lines and small text don't. Crop tight, too: empty space around the subject makes it look smaller than everyone else's.

Animated emotes and stickers

GIF works for animated emotes on Twitch, Kick, Discord and Slack. Discord stickers are the exception: animated stickers must be APNG, which ImgWrench converts GIFs to. WhatsApp's animated stickers are animated WebP, which browsers can't create yet.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an emote for every platform?

Open the Twitch emote resizer and tick the extra outputs, such as Discord emoji, to get several platforms from one crop; or open any row in the table above. Each page makes every size the platform needs, keeps GIFs animated and checks the file limit, all in your browser.

What size are Twitch emotes?

112×112, 56×56 and 28×28 pixels, as PNG up to 100KB or GIF up to 512KB. The Twitch emote resizer makes all three from one image.

What size are Discord emoji and stickers?

Emoji up to 128×128 under 256KB, and stickers exactly 320×320 under 512KB, as PNG or APNG. The Discord sticker maker makes stickers; the emoji page sits in the table.

Why are emote file limits so small?

Emotes are shown many times on every chat screen, so platforms keep them light: Twitch allows 100KB for a still emote and Discord 256KB for an emoji. Animated GIFs go over these limits easily. ImgWrench's compressors reduce colours and then frames until a file fits, keeping the animation's timing.

Can I use the same emote on Twitch, Discord and Kick?

Yes, from the same artwork, but each needs its own file: Twitch wants three sizes, Discord one 128×128 emoji and Kick one 500×500 image. Make them all from a square source of at least 500 pixels, so no size has to be enlarged, and keep the design bold enough to read at 28 pixels.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Every ImgWrench tool runs entirely in your browser, so your images are resized on your own device and never sent to a server. Nothing is stored or shared. You can check this yourself: open your browser's network tab while you resize and download, and you'll see no image data leave the page.
