ImgWrench is a free Twitch offline banner resizer: drop in an image and get a 1920×1080 video player banner, cropped to the player's 16:9 shape. Twitch doesn't publish an exact size for this banner, so we chose full HD, which stays sharp however large the player is shown.

How to make a Twitch offline banner

  1. Drop your image into the tool above.
  2. If it isn't 16:9, choose Cover to fill the frame or Crop to pick the area yourself.
  3. Pick PNG for sharp text and flat colours, or JPG for photos.
  4. Download your banner.

Uploading to Twitch

Open the Creator Dashboard from your profile icon, go to Settings, then Channel, and select the Brand tab. Upload your image under Video Player Banner. To remove it later, click the trash icon next to Update.

Design tips

  • Say when you're back. The offline banner is what visitors see between streams, so a schedule line or "back soon" is worth more than decoration.
  • Keep text away from the edges. The player is shown at many sizes, so leave a margin around anything that must be read.
  • Make it match. Reuse the colours and type from your profile banner and panels so the channel looks like one design.

Why ImgWrench

  • Cropped to the player. One 16:9 crop, no stretching.
  • Honest about the size. Twitch publishes no exact size, so we say so and give you a full HD image.
  • Private by design. Your images never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a Twitch offline banner?

Drop your image into the tool above and choose Cover or Crop if it isn't 16:9. Pick PNG for sharp text and flat colours, or JPG for photos, and download your 1920×1080 banner. Then upload it under Video Player Banner in the Brand tab of your Creator Dashboard's channel settings.

What size is a Twitch offline banner?

Twitch doesn't publish a size or a file size limit for the video player banner. It fills the video player, which is 16:9, so ImgWrench exports 1920×1080, our own pick: a full HD image that stays sharp on large screens. Every file's size is shown before you download it.

Where does the Twitch offline banner appear?

In the video player on your channel while you're offline, so it's what visitors see between streams. It's a different image from the profile banner at the top of your channel page, which Twitch recommends at 1200×480. Make that one with the Twitch banner resizer.

Can my Twitch offline banner be animated?

No. Twitch's help pages say animated video player banners aren't natively supported, so ImgWrench exports still PNG and JPG files. Use PNG for sharp text and flat colours, or JPG for photos. A schedule line or a back soon message is worth more than decoration, so keep it clear of the edges.

Can I use the same offline banner on Kick?

Yes. Tick Kick offline banner and ImgWrench also exports a 1920×1080 copy from the same crop, in PNG or JPG, checked against Kick's 4MB limit. Unlike Twitch, Kick publishes 1920×1080 as its offline banner size. The Kick offline banner resizer has more on where Kick shows it.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Your images are resized on your own device and never sent to a server, and you can confirm this in your browser's network tab. No image data leaves the page at any point, from dropping a file in to downloading the result.
