ImgWrench is a free YouTube profile picture resizer: drop in a photo or logo, crop it square, and download a sharp 800×800 image. YouTube only says profile pictures render at 98×98 pixels, so we chose a size that stays crisp wherever your picture appears, well under the 15MB limit.
How to make a YouTube profile picture
- Drop your image into the tool above.
- If it isn't square, choose Cover to fill the frame or Crop to pick the area yourself.
- Check the preview, keeping in mind that YouTube shows profile pictures in a circle.
- Download your profile picture.
Uploading to YouTube
Sign in to YouTube Studio, choose Customization, then Profile from the left menu. Next to the picture, click Change, pick your file, adjust the crop and click Done. Then click Publish. It can take a few minutes to update across YouTube.
Design tips
- Centre the subject. The circle hides the corners, so anything near the edges gets cut.
- Think 98 pixels. Your picture often shows that small next to videos and comments; strong shapes and contrast stay recognisable.
- Match your banner. The same colours across your picture and banner make your channel look put together.
Why ImgWrench
- Square, sharp, done. Crop once and get an 800×800 picture.
- One upload, two platforms. Add a matching Discord avatar if you want one.
- Private by design. Your photo never leaves your device.
