Apple's guidelines ask for one square app icon of 1024×1024 pixels for iPhone, iPad and Mac apps, provided with square corners so the system can round them. Screenshots come in exact sizes per device, with no alpha channel. The table above shows what ImgWrench exports, and each row links to a free tool that makes it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize images to App Store image sizes?

Open the App Store icon maker from the table above and drop in your artwork. It makes a square 1024×1024 PNG, the size Apple's guidelines list for iPhone, iPad and Mac app icons, and can add the 512×512 Google Play icon from the same crop. It all happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

What size is the App Store app icon?

1024×1024 pixels, square, as a PNG, with the corners left for Apple to round. The App Store icon maker makes it from any image.

Where do these App Store sizes come from?

The icon comes from Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Xcode's documentation on configuring an app icon; the screenshot sizes come from the Screenshot specifications page in App Store Connect Help. Both were checked on the date shown under the table, and the table and tools are updated together when Apple changes them.

What size are App Store screenshots?

1206×2622 for the required iPhone size and 2064×2752 for iPad 13-inch, without alpha. The App Store screenshot resizer makes both, plus landscape and Mac sizes.

Do I need different icon sizes for iPhone, iPad and Mac?

For iPhone and iPad, Xcode can generate every smaller variation from a single 1024×1024 image, so that one file is enough. Apple's documentation notes that macOS and tvOS apps need an asset for each size, which you set up in the Xcode asset catalog. For a Mac .icns file, try the PNG to ICNS converter.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Every ImgWrench tool runs entirely in your browser, so your images are resized on your own device and never sent to a server. Nothing is stored or shared. You can check this yourself: open your browser's network tab while you resize and download, and you'll see no image data leave the page.
