Shipping an app means one design in many files: store icons, screenshots for each device, a feature graphic and, for Expo apps, the adaptive icon layers and splash icon. The table above compares them, with the size to make, the formats each store accepts and its limits.
Square, unmasked and centred
Every store rounds icon corners itself, so icons are made square and full-bleed, with the main shape in the middle. Android's adaptive icons go further: only the inner 66 of 108 dp is guaranteed to show, which ImgWrench's Expo tool handles for you.
No alpha where it isn't allowed
Apple's screenshots and Google Play's screenshots and feature graphic must not have an alpha channel. Most apps save PNGs with one even when nothing is transparent, so ImgWrench writes those files as 24-bit PNGs, filling any transparent areas with white.
