Kick's image rules fit on one help page, but each image has its own size, and only one of them can be animated. Here is every size Kick asks for, in one place.

Channel banner requirements
- Size: at least 1280×700 pixels.
- Formats: JPG, JPEG or PNG.
- File size: up to 4MB.
Kick displays it at the top of your channel page when your stream is offline. Kick gives a minimum, not an exact size, so a bigger image in the same shape is fine. Our resizer exports 1280×700 and a 2560×1400 copy, our own choice, for large, sharp screens.
To upload it, go to your Profile Information page, click Edit Banner Image, upload your file and click Confirm.
Can a Kick banner be a GIF?
No. Kick lists only JPG, JPEG and PNG for the channel banner, the offline banner and the profile picture. If your banner art is a GIF, export one still frame of it as a PNG instead.
Emotes are the only Kick images that can move: they take PNG or GIF. The Kick emote resizer makes them at 500×500 and keeps a GIF's animation.
Offline banner
The offline banner is a separate image from the channel banner. Kick shows it on your channel page when your stream has ended.
- Size: 1920×1080 pixels, a 1080p image.
- Formats: JPG, JPEG or PNG.
- File size: up to 4MB.
Upload it with Update Offline Banner Image on the same Profile Information page. The Kick offline banner resizer crops any image to 1920×1080.
Profile picture and emotes
Your profile picture (avatar) appears in chat rooms and on channel pages. It needs to be at least 128×128 pixels, in JPG, JPEG or PNG, up to 4MB. Upload it with Edit Avatar.
Emotes are 500×500 pixels, PNG or GIF, and under 1MB each. Every channel can upload up to 60 emotes, and Affiliates and Verified channels can add up to 24 subscriber-only emotes on top. Add them in your Streamer Dashboard, under Community.
Picking JPG or PNG
- PNG for logos, text and flat colours: edges stay sharp.
- JPG for photos and gradients: files are usually much smaller, which helps you stay under 4MB.
- Check it small. Make sure your channel name still reads when the banner is scaled down on a phone.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make a Kick banner the right size?
Start from an image at least 1280×700 pixels, crop it to that shape and save it as a JPG or PNG under 4MB. Then open your Profile Information page, choose Edit Banner Image, upload the file and confirm. The Kick Banner Resizer crops any image to Kick's shape and checks the 4MB limit for you.
What size is a Kick banner?
Kick asks for a channel banner of at least 1280×700 pixels, in JPG, JPEG or PNG, up to 4MB. That's a minimum, so a larger image in the same shape works too and stays sharper on big screens. The offline banner is a different image, at 1920×1080, and you upload it separately.
What is the maximum file size for a Kick banner?
4MB. The same limit applies to the offline banner and the profile picture, and all three take only JPG, JPEG or PNG. Emotes are smaller: each one must be under 1MB. If a banner comes out too big, save it as a JPG instead of a PNG, since photos and gradients compress far better that way.
Can a Kick banner be animated?
No. Kick lists only JPG, JPEG and PNG for the channel banner, the offline banner and the profile picture, so a GIF can't be used for any of them. Emotes are the exception: Kick accepts PNG or GIF there, at 500×500 and under 1MB. The Kick emote resizer keeps a GIF's animation.
What size is the Kick offline banner?
1920×1080 pixels, a 1080p image, in JPG, JPEG or PNG up to 4MB. Kick shows it on your channel page when your stream has ended. Upload it with Update Offline Banner Image on your Profile Information page. The Kick offline banner resizer crops any image to that size.
What size is a Kick profile picture?
At least 128×128 pixels, in JPG, JPEG or PNG up to 4MB. Kick uses your avatar in chat rooms and on channel pages. Use a simple, centred image that still reads in chat, and upload it with Edit Avatar on your Profile Information page. The Kick profile picture resizer makes a square copy.
